The Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) has physical health & wellness staff around the country works with warriors for multiple events & programs such as the Soldier Ride®. Seventeen WWP Soldier Ride® events will take place around the country and in Germany to assist injured service members in their recovery process, raise awareness for their ongoing needs, and engage community support in 2013.
Events include a series of cycling events that bring Wounded Warriors together for a long weekend focused on physical health and wellness, camaraderie, and healing. There are rides happening each month in a different location.
WWP helps warriors along their journey from being wounded toward participating in physical challenges like Soldier Rides® and Tough Mudders. WWP has training plans, hosts multiple training events across the country in groups (and with individuals), and a full staff dedicated to helping these warriors regain physical strength and confidence. Each warrior has an inspirational story to share, and the Tough Mudder events have now raised more than $5 million in support of WWP.
WWP provides state-of-the-art cycling equipment to WWP Alumni at no cost, which includes adaptive hand cycles, trikes, and bicycles to accommodate various injuries and disabilities, as well as unmodified road bikes for riders not requiring adaptive equipment. Soldier Ride®, presented by GEICO, is also being supported across the country by U-HAUL, a founding partner of WWP.
The rehabilitative cycling event brings WWP Alumni from the region and across the country together for a long weekend focused on physical health and wellness, camaraderie, and healing. Events include a bike fitting where warriors are fit with adaptive equipment, and two days of rides.
